The thing about blogging...

...for me, at least, is that I seldom get to write about what matters most to me - my Savior, my family, homeschooling, Liberia, my abundance, and so on.

And that can be decieving.

I'm uncomfortable with the thought of somebody dropping in here and summing me up by the content of my blog, which for the most part, I consider rather superficial. I want my life to be a living testimony of the grace and love of Jesus Christ. And as I've said before, "I want what I write to be worth taking the time to read it - to be meaningful - to have some substance - to be interesting, entertaining, informative, convicting, inspiring, heartwrending, uplifting, encouraging."

Somehow, the posts that share my real heart are the ones that take the most time and energy to compose. It's easy to shoot off a post about something creative I've made, or show some lovely pictures. But, the posts that share my real heart are more likely the ones that would encourage, inspire, and minister to others. And, by writing my heart, it helps me solidify and organize my thoughts, and keep my focus on what's really important.
So, what I'm saying is that I'd really like to share more of my passions, my convictions, my dreams. I've been jotting lots of notes in my freedom journal. We'll see how it goes. I only have agonizingly and incredibly irrating slow dial up, and I'm only willing to take away a limited amount of time from "real life" to blog, if you know what I mean. :)
Any thoughts? Do you relate?

Oh, I know what you mean! I deleted my beautiful blog last year because I felt that it was a waste of my precious time, even though I LOVED doing it.

I know you wrote this post a few weeks ago, but I had this exact conversation today with my friend at church!!!! I have a blog and I often I just post stuff I have made rather than talk about things that are really going on with me, so then I feel like my blog is not a true representation of me as a person who is a Christian. So I hear you. Hey, we have lots in common, art, homeschooling, being a believer, and I am praying for 2 of our other friends who are adopting from Liberia (one of them is not gong well :(
I hope you do keep posting, I am enjoying finding artists who are Christians online.

I am also struggling with how a blog can minister to Christians and also attract non-believers to read. I have thought about having several blogs but I am not several people! (I have three blogs but don't post often to two, I am playing with design on them. They are in the new format.

I hope I have consistency and show some of who I am but I am not sure anyone can truly know another from a blog!

Noting that your last post was several months ago, I don't know if you will be reading this, but here goes. I do hope that you won't stop journaling your faith on this blog! Your feelings ministered to me as I am a new blogger-- hoping to witness through creativity. I don't intend to compromise, but I do want to come through the back door, so to speak, so that I can welcome those who might not come aknockin' if they sense a preacher in the house. I am a women's leader in my church, a speaker, a singer, and a Worship Leader. Like you, I know where my creativity comes from and that we are created in His image. I delight in sharing His love through creativity. I pray that you will continue to do so on this site, too. Blessings to YOU!
